$2 Coffee Day at New Morisset Jamaica Blue!

A new Jamaica Blue café is now open in Morisset! To celebrate, locals can pop in on Friday, 24th of June and grab a delicious small coffee for only $2.

It’s the second Jamaica Blue for the franchisee, Nathan Reilly. Nathan says he has always loved being part of a community, feeling that a local café brings people together to enjoy the moment.

“By opening a new Jamaica Blue in Morisset I can provide the perfect place for customers to catch up over a signature blend of coffee and a quality breakfast, lunch and sweet treat.”

Why a Legal Eagle Spread His Wings Into Hospitality

Nathan was born and bred in the Newcastle area, completing his Bachelor of Law at the University of Newcastle prior to starting his journey in hospitality.

Compassionate by nature, after university he worked at the community legal centre, offering free legal advice to disadvantaged people. “It was an amazing experience which gave me a lifelong passion for people and community.”

Nathan’s first foray into Jamaica Blue came around 10 years ago, when he purchased the store at Westfield Kotara in Newcastle, which is now owned and operated by his twin brother.

“I was attracted to Jamaica Blue as a franchise for its award-winning coffee, quality food that is prepared on site, contemporary store designs, and on-going support from the franchisor.”

Jamaica Blue is owned by top Australian retail group Foodco, which has won many awards for its training and systems. The Jamaica Blue team are behind franchisees all the way, with on-going business mentoring and marketing support. “What really won me over was the willingness to allow me to adapt my cafe offering to the community that I was in and ensure that my customers are being offered a tailored selection just for them.”

Building a Successful Business Franchise

Next, Nathan started a successful franchise at Jesmond Central, which is currently thriving. However he says that after his fast paced career as a lawyer, owning the café has taught him the value of balance; how to slow down, listen and enjoy the little things.

It’s cliché but so true! I love being able to live in the moment and have a chat to my customers and hear their amazing stories.”

The new store at Morisset will give Nathan another venue where he can put his own stamp on recipes.

“I get excited about creativity! I get to try new recipes, create a visual feast in our display cabinet, pour the perfect cup of coffee, and have fun with my amazing team of staff and customers. Seeing the community smiling and enjoying what we are offering is the biggest reward.”

The Morisset store opened today, 20th of June 2022. Nathan says that visitors can expect a relaxed atmosphere offering amazing customer service, award-winning coffee and mouth watering dishes including all day brekkies!

To celebrate the opening, there will be a $2 coffee day on Friday 24th June! Drop in to the store to enjoy a small coffee for $2, at Shop 20, Morisset Square Shopping Centre, 35 Yambo Street, Morisset and get to know Nathan and his friendly team.
