What will it cost to set-up a new Jamaica Blue café?
The total investment cost ranges from approximately $350,000 to $500,000 plus GST, the price can vary depending on the location, size and shop-build required. When you purchase a Jamaica Blue Cafe, your investment is all inclusive, which means your business is ready to go with no extra hidden costs! Once you are set on a location, we can provide an accurate price, so you can confidently plan your investment.
Do you have an on-going royalty fee?
The on-going royalty fee is 6%, plus a 3% marketing fund contribution, both calculated on gross sales and payable weekly, supporting brand growth and driving customers into your café.
Do I require any specific food or café experience?
No café experience? No problem! Many of our franchise partners start with no hospitality background. We’ll ensure you receive the training that you need. Of course, any hospitality, customer service or management experience is a bonus but not essential.
What training is provided?
Our 3-week award winning training is comprehensive and unique to Jamaica Blue and comprises of both in-store training and workshops.
Centre of Retail Excellence (CORE): An in-depth 2-week program of training in our Jamaica Blue Training Centre of Excellence. Here you will learn that Jamaica Blue is more than just making coffee; it’s about providing our customers the escape they need in their day. Through hands-on training our franchise partners complete both theoretical and technical training in the following key areas:
- Culinary Skills including preparation and back of house management.
- Customer Service
- Barista Training
- Shift Management
- Workshops: Designed to ensure our franchise partners have the ability to manage a Jamaica Blue Café. You will attend workshops which will cover the following key areas:
- Business & Financial Management
- Human Resources
- Marketing
- Leadership
In-store: On the opening of a Jamaica Blue store, franchise partners will receive an initial 7-10 days of field support by a minimum of two accredited Jamaica Blue Operations coaches, to help you and your team deliver a strong start.
Do I need citizenship or residency?
Yes, to become a Jamaica Blue Franchise Partner you will need to hold either permanent residency, be an Australian Citizen or have the VISA requirements to own and run a business in Australia.
What’s the return on investment?
Return on investment can vary depending on store to store and relies on many factors. We share real store performance data with serious applicants after you complete an application, so you can make informed decisions based on actual results from existing cafés.
