A new Jamaica Blue café has opened in Forest Lakes, Perth, launching with a day of free coffee on November 9th and fantastic reviews of the fresh, summery menu. It’s the second café for our successful franchisee Co Vinh La, known by everyone as Co.
Co says that he’s excited about his new café’s prime location in Forest Lakes shopping centre, which boasts major anchor stores such as Woolworths and Aldi.
An experienced chef, Co found himself ready for a new challenge a few years ago. Based in Sydney for twelve years, he had risen through the ranks at some of Australia’s top hotels, including Sydney’s Sheraton on the Park, Four Seasons and the QT Hotel, where he was Sous Chef.
Yet he was keen to move to Perth and translate his passion for food into his own business. After researching the Australian café industry and other available franchises, he was impressed by the level of support Jamaica Blue offers.

Co moved to Perth in 2015 and opened his first Jamaica Blue franchise in Livingston on November 10th 2018. Almost exactly a year later, he opened his second café in Forest Lakes.
Local residents were crying out for a contemporary and stylish café where they could escape and refresh. The launch day of free coffee was a scramble but also a thumping success! Co says they served at least 700 customers in the morning.
Jamaica Blue is founded on the principle of sourcing the best possible ingredients and serving award-winning coffee. Indeed, the coffee was one of the first elements that drew Co to Jamaica Blue:

We’re also known for our fresh ingredients and seasonal menus that are perfect for the Australian climate. Our new range of ‘Summer Stunners’ are already a hit; light dishes which are inspired by the mouth-watering flavours of Jamaica, made with the freshest Australian produce.
